Bhubaneswar: On January 26, during the Republic Day Contingent (RDC) held in New Delhi, the tableau of Odisha was honored as the best in the Judges Choice category. Simultaneously, the tableau of Gujarat received recognition as the best in the People’s Choice category during the parade.
The selection process considered all states and Union Territories (UTs) participating in the RDC. In the Judges Choice category, Gujarat secured the second position, followed by Tamil Nadu in third place. In the People’s Choice category, Uttar Pradesh claimed the second prize, with Andhra Pradesh securing the third position.
The Ministry of Culture (MoC) tableau was identified as the best in the Judges Choice category, while the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) received the top prize in the People’s Choice category among ministries and departments.
In the Judges Choice category for the Best Marching Contingent from Services, the Sikh Regiment excelled, while the Rajputana Rifles took the top spot in the People’s Choice category.
The women’s wing of Delhi Police was recognized as the top performer for the Best Marching Contingent from CAPFs/Auxiliary Forces in the Judges Choice category. In the People’s Choice category, the women’s wing of CRPF received this prestigious acknowledgment.
Special prizes were also awarded to the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) and the Vande Bharatam dance group in the non-competitive category.
