Bhubaneswar: The first phase of the Assembly Budget session is over. This will be resumed on 20 August. The 17th assembly session of Odisha is announced to be adjourned till 20th of August. The second term of session will run from August 20 to September 13.
The first session was full of dramas. With the state budget, changing the name of schemes introduced by the previous govt., ration cards and many more hot topics like these made a very active session. The dominant highlight of the house was Odisha Chief Minister-cum-Finance Minister Mohan Charan Majhi presented the Odisha Budget 2024-25 on July 25 with a size of Rs 2.65.000 crore. The size of annual Budget 2023-24 was Rs 2.30.000 crore. However, the budget for the year 2024-2025 is about 15% and the increased allocation is expected to boost infrastructure development, social welfare programs, and economic growth of the state. Another prominent high spot was changing the name of the schemes of the BJD govt. However there shall be a total of 27 working days in the Odisha Assembly session.
