Nayagarh: In a tragic incident in Daspalla area of Odisha’s Nayagarh district, one person lost his life, and another sustained critical injuries after a speeding liquor-laden truck collided with a motorcycle. The accident occurred late on Tuesday night near Dihagaon Chhack under Daspalla police limits.
The victims, identified as Basant Dalai (45) and Prafulla Dalai from Balabhadra Prasad, were scrap dealers en route to Daspalla on a motorcycle when the collision took place.
Basant Dalai succumbed to his injuries, and Prafulla Dalai was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Nayagrh in critical condition. Despite immediate medical attention, Basant was declared dead at the hospital.
The truck involved in the accident was laden with liquor, and the collision occurred with great force. While the police detained the helper of the truck, the driver managed to flee the scene after the accident. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
