Durga Puja in Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police Will Supervise The Disciplinary Festive Season

Bhubaneswar: Preparations have been made for an orderly and safe Durga Puja in Bhubaneswar this time. Various aspects have been discussed in the pre-preparation meeting at the office of the police commissionerate on Wednesday. Other police officials including Additional Commissioner of Police Umashkar Das, Bhubaneswar DCP Pinak Mishra were present in the meeting.

It is recommended to take action against criminal activities during puja. This year there are 187 idols in Bhubaneswar and it has been divided into 3 categories. There are 48 Durga Idols in ‘A’ class, 71 in ‘B’ and 68 in ‘C’.

For Bhubaneswar, special supervision will be controlled by commissionerate police in giant puja pandals like Rasulgarh, Nayapali, Bomikhal, Jharpada, Baramunda, Saheed Nagar etc.

There are 3 striking forces for puja, while control rooms have been arranged in 5 mandaps. A giant inspection team has been formed including the employees of various departments and the police.
