Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made a significant stride in its preparations for the upcoming Odisha Assembly elections in 2024 by releasing its first list of candidates. With a total of 112 nominees announced in the initial list, the BJP aims to strengthen its foothold in the state and contest vigorously for key constituencies.
Among the prominent names featured in the BJP’s candidate roster are seasoned leaders and notable personalities who are set to represent the party in various assembly seats across Odisha. Notable mentions include Suresh Pujari, who will be contesting from the Brajarajnagar Assembly seat, and Tankadhar Tripathy, who will be vying for victory in Jharsuguda.
The diversity of candidates reflects the BJP’s strategic approach to fielding representatives from different backgrounds and regions, aiming to appeal to a broad spectrum of voters. This includes Kusum Tete for the Sundargarh constituency, Jayanarayan Mishra for Sambalpur, and Biswaranjan Badajena for Jatani, among others.
One notable inclusion in the list is actor-turned-politician Akash Dasnayak, who will be making his electoral debut representing the BJP from the Korei constituency. His candidacy adds a dynamic element to the BJP’s lineup, potentially attracting a younger demographic and bringing fresh perspectives to the political arena.
The list also features seasoned politicians such as Priyadarshi Mishra, Jagannath Pradhan, Arabinda Dhali, Babu Singh, and Prithiviraj Harichandan, who will be contesting from Bhubaneswar North, Bhubaneswar Central, Jayadev, Bhubaneswar Ekamra, and Chilika constituencies respectively.
