Bhubaneswar: In preparation for the imminent Lok Sabha and Odisha Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to initiate a three-day ‘Gaon Chala’ campaign across the state starting February 9. The strategic campaign aims to enhance the BJP’s outreach in rural areas, with the goal of securing over 50% of the vote share in Odisha.
Elected representatives, along with state and district BJP functionaries, will dedicate at least a day to visit assigned villages, focusing on informing party workers about effective ways to garner public support. The campaign will spotlight various welfare and developmental programs initiated by the Narendra Modi government over the past decade.
Deepak Prakash, BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand and in charge of the village connect program for Odisha, conducted a workshop for party functionaries from all 36 organizational districts in Bhubaneswar on Monday. The emphasis during the workshop was on the significance of door-to-door campaigning and reaching out to all voter segments with the messages of ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) and ‘Modi Guarantee.’
The objective of this campaign is to elevate the BJP’s vote share to 51% in the state, aligning with the broader strategy to ensure the saffron party’s continued governance at the Centre with Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister. The three-day initiative will cover all households, providing insights into the voters’ sentiments in rural areas leading up to the elections.
