Bhubaneswar: Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates recently paid a visit to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas, the latter’s residence, on Wednesday. The meeting was marked by discussions on various initiatives aimed at empowering farmers through technology and advancing welfare programs in Odisha.
Chief Minister Patnaik took to his X handle (formerly Twitter) to share insights from the meeting, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to engage with Gates.

He highlighted discussions surrounding Odisha’s technology-driven farmer empowerment initiatives and various welfare programs, including Jaga Mission, Mission Shakti, School Transformation, BSKY, and healthcare transformation.
In a separate post, Patnaik commended the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for its support in fostering innovation and extending inclusive benefits to the people of Odisha. He expressed appreciation for Gates’ recognition of Odisha’s welfare initiatives and the success achieved across different sectors through the state’s 5T transformative governance approach.
