Sambalpur: The Government of Odisha has declared a statewide holiday for schools and colleges on January 27 to mark the inauguration of the SAMALEI project in Sambalpur district. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate the Samaleswari Temple Area Management and Local Economy Initiatives (SAMALEI) project, with a series of rituals and a Kalash Yatra leading up to the event.
The six-day rituals commenced on Monday, culminating in a Kalash Yatra on January 26, where women from Sambalpur and surrounding areas will collect holy water. This water will be used to bathe the Goddess in the Samaleswari Temple during the inauguration ceremony on January 27, symbolizing purity and sanctity.
