Bhubaneswar: The winter session of the Odisha Assembly has begun today. The Speaker Surama Padhy was felicitated with guard of honour from the beginning of the House. However, the opposition members had already made preparations to surround the ruling party on the first day itself.
The BJD and Congress have planned to throw the government into trouble by raising the issues of mango kernel deaths, paddy buying irregularities, deteriorating law and order situation, Adani and Gandhamardan issue etc.
The BJP has decided to open the 24-year black letter of the previous government by taking the government’s notice. On the one hand, in the all-party meeting before the session, there was a discussion on how to run the house work forward smoothly with peace and order, while on the other hand, opposition leader Naveen Patnaik also held a meeting with BJD members at Shankha Bhawan.
