Majhi Govt.’s Major Changes At The Administrative Level

Bhubaneswar: The state government has made major changes at the administrative level. Except for a few districts, district governors have changed in almost all districts. Late on Wednesday, a notice was issued by the Public Administration and Complaints Department.

According to the notification, 2009 batch IAS Dr. Vijaya Ketan Upadhyay has been appointed as the new director of the Department of Odia, Literature and Culture. In addition, he will take on additional responsibilities as the director of the Odisha family (Odisha Parivar). Dillip Routray, who is currently acting as the director of the Department of Odia, Literature and Culture, has been replaced as Bhadrak District Magistrate.

Balasore District Collector Ashish Thackeray has been appointed as Secretary of Revenue Council. Nabarangpur District Collector Kamal Lochan Mishra has been transferred as the Executive Director of Odisha State Disaster Management Authority. Similarly, Nikhil Pawan Kalyan, who was working as Jajpur District Magistrate, has been posted as the Director of Soil Conservation and Water Resources Development, while Gajapati District Magistrate Smuitiranjan Pradhan has been given the new responsibility as Kendrapara District Magistrate. Commissioner of Cuttack Metropolitan Corporation, Vijay Kumar Das has become the new District Magistrate of Gajapati. Similarly, according to the notification, Swadha Dev Singh, District Magistrate of Nayagarh, has been transferred as Additional Secretary of Panchayati Raj Department, while Osepa’s State Project Director, Parul Patwari has been transferred as District Magistrate of Rayagada.

While Dhenkanal District Magistrate Amrit Ruturaj has been appointed as Kandhamal District Magistrate, Sidheswar Baliram Bondar, who was working as Bhadrak District Magistrate, has been replaced as Sambalpur District Magistrate. Dattatreya Vausaheb Sinde, District Magistrate of Mayurbhanj has been appointed as DM of Cuttack, while Nuapada Collector Hem Kant Sai has been replaced as DM of Mayurbhanj. On the contrary, Kalahandi district administrator P. Anwesha Reddy has been replaced as Jajpur Collector. 

According to the notification, Deogarh District Magistrate Somesh Kumar Upadhyay will also work as Dhenkanal District Administrator. Similarly, director of rural development department, Shubhankar Mohapatra, will take charge as district magistrate of Nabarangpur. Kendrapara District Governor Suryashunhi Mayur Vikas has been replaced as Balasore Collector, while Boudh District Governor J. Sonal Jagatsinghpur will take charge as District Magistrate. Malkangiri District Magistrate Pawan Sachin Prakash has been appointed as Kalahandi District Magistrate, while Sambalpur District Magistrate Akshay Sunil Agarwal will perform new duties as Nayagarh District Magistrate. 

Rayagada District Collector Manoj S. Mahajan has been replaced as the new District Magistrate of Sundergarh, While the Executive Director (Lands) of Odisha Mining Corporation, Kabindra Kumar Sahu will serve as the District Magistrate of Deogarh. 

Madhusudan Das, special secretary of Odia language, literature and culture department, has been replaced as Nuapada DM, while Subrat Kumar Panda, who was working as special secretary of rural development department, has been appointed as Boudh district Collector.
