Mahapanchuka In Puri: Devotees Thronged The Shrine To Witness The Lord Of The Univererse

Puri: The Mahapanchuka fast of the holy month of Kartika has already been started. This time, instead of five days, the Panchuk fast will be observed for four days due to the disappearance of the tithi. On the other hand, the temple is overflowing with crowds for Panchuka.

On the occasion of the holy Panchuka, a crowd unlike any other in Puri can be seen. A stampede has broken out in front of the Singhadwar of the Puri Jagannath temple. A stampede has broken out at the barricade due to the rain. Many devotees have been injured in the stampede and public dissatisfaction with the administration and police system has increased.

However, despite the tight security arrangements made in view of the crowd of devotees for Panchuka, such a situation has arisen. Since morning, devotees have entered only through Singhadwar while leaving through three other doors. Meanwhile, barricades have been made for devotees from Marichikot Chhaka for disciplined darshan.

5 additional SPs, 14 DSPs, 26 inspectors and 38 platoons of police force have been deployed for safety purpose.
