Bhubaneswar: Gold mines have been discovered in Odisha. This information was given by the Minister of Mines Bibhuthi Bhushan Jena while replying to Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati’s question during the question hour on the third day of the second phase of the budget session of the Assembly. The minister said that goldstone has been found in Adas-Rampalli area of Deogarh district.
Gold was discovered by GSI while prospecting for copper. It is known from geological data that gold is stored in this area. Now this mineral block has been prepared for auction.
Gopur-Gazipur area of Keonjhar has been identified for gold mining in Mankadchuan, Saleikana and Dimirimunda areas. Gold mines are being explored in jashipur, Suriaguda, Ruansi, Idelkucha, Maredihi, Suleipat and Badampahad areas of Mayurbhanj.
It has been reported that there are gold mines in other parts of Sundergarh, Nabarangpur, Angul, Koraput, Malkangiri, Sambalpur, Boudh.
