Cyclone Dana: IMD Issued Red Alert For 7 Dists
Puri/Balasore: Cyclone Dana likely to make landfall in Odisha over Bay of Bengal between Puri and Balasore. It is about to touch land at this time, the wind speed can be 110 to 120 km per hour. This has been informed by the Indian Meteorological Department. However, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in various districts of coastal Odisha under the influence of the cyclone.
While there was no warning for any district on Tuesday, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, and Puri districts are likely to experience heavy rain with thunder and lightning from Wednesday to Thursday.
However, a red warning has been issued for Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur due to the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain at some places between Thursday and Friday. Similarly, Orange Warning has been issued in Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Khordha, Nayagarh, Puri, Ganjam districts due to possibility of heavy rain. Along with this, heavy rain may occur in Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Subarnapur, Boudh, Gajapati, Kandhamal districts. So, yellow warning has been issued to these districts.
