Cuttack: The historic Cuttack Bali Yatra will begin on Friday. Cuttack District Magistrate Dattatray BhauSaheb Shinde informed the press conference about all the preparations in this regard. The Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will inaugurate the fair at 5 pm on Friday. Guests will arrive at the stage in four boats from the Boat Club. Ambassadors of 13 South East Asian countries will participate on the occasion.
Last year, more than 6 million people visited the iconic Bali Yatra, but this year the Bali Yatra crowd will break the record. The district administration has estimated a crowd of 7 million in this largest open-air trade fair in the Asian continent.
It has now become a priority not to achieve national recognition rather international recognition or UNESCO certification for Bali Yatra. The district administration has started taking steps for this. The District Magistrate said that if Bali Yatra is organized in such a style for 3 consecutive years like this year, the chances of getting international recognition will increase. A special pavilion is being added to the attraction of the South-Eastern nations and the Utkal maritime tradition.
Cultural groups from 8 countries like Barley and Indonesia will also come to this event. This time, Cuttack in Cuttack will be another attraction. Odia culture and the development of Odia cinema have been depicted there. Apart from this, people can enjoy laser shows, drone shows and water sports in the Mahanadi River. District Collector Dattatreya Bhausaheb Shinde informed that all the preparations have reached the final stage.
