Cuttack: In the most highlighted Bharatpur Police station Army major assault case the Odisha High Court has directed immediate installation of cameras in all police stations across the state.
The High Court has praised the government’s initiative while the police investigation continues in the Bharatpur police station incident. The state government has informed the court that the state government will bring SOP for better treatment of army personnel in the police station.
CCTV cameras are not working properly in 456 out of 593 police stations in the state. CCTV cameras will be installed in the remaining police stations in the next 15 days.
The government has submitted a statement that the control of all CCTV cameras will be in the district SP office and DG office. The next hearing of the case will be on November 12.
