Prime Minister Modi Flags Off Third Vande Bharat Express for Odisha, Inaugurates Railway Projects
Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the third Vande Bharat Express train for Odisha via a video conferencing program held in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. The Visakhapatnam-Bhubaneswar Vande Bharat Express was among the 10 new Vande Bharat trains flagged off during the event, marking a significant addition to Odisha’s rail connectivity.
Scheduled to operate six days a week except Saturdays, the new Vande Bharat Express will depart from Bhubaneswar at 5:15 am, reaching Vizag at 11 am. On its return journey, it will depart from Vizag at 3:30 pm, arriving in Bhubaneswar at 9:30 pm, providing commuters with a convenient travel option between the two cities.
Initially envisioned to run between Visakhapatnam and Puri, the originating station for the train was later changed to Bhubaneswar, enhancing accessibility and connectivity for passengers traveling to and from Odisha.
In addition to flagging off the Vande Bharat Express, Prime Minister Modi also laid the foundation stone and dedicated various railway projects worth more than Rs 85,000 crore across the country, including several significant initiatives in Odisha. Among these projects are 162 electronic interlocking systems, 41 One Station One Product (OSOP) stalls, 50 solar power stations, five goods sheds, nine new line, doubling, and third line projects, four auto signaling systems, one GatiSakthi terminal, one Jan Aushadhi Kendra, and one railway coach.
