Rayagada: In a devastating incident during a speed marker trial engine test, two workers constructing a railway track lost their lives between Singhpur Road and Rayagada Road railway stations. Amisirao Pulaka and Shivana Kadraka were fatally crushed by a passing train near Pole No 335 at Devdalguda.
Both victims, residents of Devdalguda village, were sitting on the railway track when the accident occurred. The collision resulted in their immediate demise, prompting fellow workers to demand adequate compensation for the bereaved families.
The incident highlights the urgent need for enhanced safety protocols during railway construction activities. Authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the mishap to determine if any lapses contributed to the tragedy.
