Know all about the Curly Tales controversy: Kamiya Jani
Bhubaneswar: A significant controversy has surfaced following the circulation of a viral video featuring social media influencer and Curly Tales founder Kamiya Jani engaged in a conversation with bureaucrat-turned-BJD leader VK Pandian on the premises of the revered Jagannath temple in Puri. The Odisha unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has raised objections, alleging that Jani, known for her association with promoting beef consumption, was granted access to the sacred shrine.
In the video, Kamiya Jani is seen endorsing the Puri Srimandir Heritage Corridor project and Mahaprasad alongside BJD leader VK Pandian. The BJP, reacting strongly to the video, contends that the incident has offended the religious sentiments of millions of Hindus and deems the broadcasting of the video from the temple premises as “unacceptable.” Demanding immediate action, the BJP has called for the registration of a case against both Pandian and Jani under IPC Section 295 A, urging their prompt arrest.
In an official statement on their Twitter handle, the Odisha BJP expressed outrage over the perceived disregard for the sacred sanctity of Puri Srimandir by VK Pandian, chairman of 5T (Technology, Transparency, Teamwork, Time Leading to Transformation). The party accuses Pandian of allowing a promoter of beef into the revered premises of Jagannath Mandir, and criticizes the ruling BJD party for remaining indifferent to the sentiments of the Odia people and the sanctity of Jagannath Culture.

The controversy has prompted the Odisha BJP to demand swift and severe consequences for those involved, emphasizing the need for accountability in preserving the cultural and spiritual heritage of the Jagannath temple.
Responding to the controversy, Kamiya Jani took to her Instagram story to issue a clarification, asserting that she has never consumed beef. She emphasized her mission as an Indian to showcase Indian culture and heritage to the world. Jani mentioned her visits to various Jyotirlingas and char dhams of India, expressing her privilege in doing so. Despite the controversy, Jani remains steadfast in her commitment to promoting and appreciating Indian traditions.
