India Reports 9,629 New Covid Cases; Active Cases Sees A Dip
India recorded 9,629 fresh COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, April 26. While the active cases have climbed to 61,013, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Tuesday. Prior to that on 24 April, the country saw a huge drop of 7,178 COVID cases after reporting over 10,000 cases daily.
With the fresh cases, India’s COVID-19 tally stands at 4.48 crore (4,48,91,989). The active cases now comprise 0.15 per cent of the total infections and the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.66 per cent, according to the health ministry website.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 5.38 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 5.61 per cent. The number of people who have recovered from the disease surged to 4,43,23,045, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.18 per cent.
According to the ministry’s website, 220.66 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
