2 killed, 30 injured as bus rams into stationary Hyva truck in Sundargarh

In an unfortunate incident, at least two persons were killed and more than 30 people injured after a passenger bus hit a hyva near Chandiposh in Sundargarh district on Monday. The incident occurred on NH 143 near Chandiposh in the district early in the morning.

The deceased were identified as Satya Prakash Nayak of Rourkela and a 12-year-old girl.

According to sources, a bus named ‘Prabha’ enroute from Bhubaneswar to Rourkela hit the truck while it was parked on the roadside near a eatery in Chandiposh.

The critically injured passengers have been admitted to the Rourkela JP Hospital, while others are undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the steel city.
