Encountering a rat on public transport is probably everyone’s worst nightmare. The most terrifying fear we could possibly have is discovering a rat crawling on us while we are asleep.

If you are an avid social media user, you might have come across several videos from metro trains and other public transportation. While much of this footage features humans and their antics, the now-viral video stands different as it is about an act pulled by a rat.

A video of this hilarious incident has been recently shared on Twitter. In the clip, a rat appears out of nowhere and starts climbing the legs of a passenger who is fast asleep. The man continues to doze off, unaware of the rodent travelling up his body. Then, the rat moves up the man’s arm to the juncture between his neck and shoulders. The man feels something unusual and starts to drowsily open his eyes. When he feels something move at the back of his neck, he puts his hand behind. Just then, the rat reappears in front of him. The passenger jumps up and the rat falls to the ground. It then moves away.

The video of a rat climbing on a man in subway was shared on Twitter by a user named Jaz. The caption in the post reads, “I didn’t realize there are rats on NY Subways or any Subway.”

The video went viral in no time and has over 1M views and over 800 retweets. Several users hailed the man’s calm and dropped some hilarious comments.

One of the users wrote, “I swear to God, I would either drop dead on the spot or the whole of the country would hear my screams?.” Another user wrote, “I was thinking of taking the kids to NY for spring break but now I’m rethinking that strategy.”
