Youth Found Hanging From Tree In Keonjhar Forest Four Days After Marriage, suicide suspected

The body of a newly-married youth was found hanging in a forest about 1 km from his village in Keonjhar on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Nirmal Sahu, son of Laxman Sahu of Kalimati village in Harichandanpur block of Odisha’s Keonjhar district.

According to reports, Nirmal married one Dudhumati Sahu, daughter of Gurcharan Sahu of Pietagola village in the neighbourhood, on March 11 this year. Nirmal went missing on March 14. Following this, the family members launched a frantic search but in vain.

Later on Wednesday, some villagers spotted Nirmal’s body hanging from a tree barely 1 km from the village. These villagers informed the deceased family and Harichandanpur police about the incident.

Police seized the body and sent it for post-mortem. An investigation has been launched into the tragic incident.
