Bhubaneswar: A woman fell unconscious at the railway station in Puri and later died after being taken to the district headquarters hospital on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Kunimani Nayak, a resident of Kantapada in the Delang area of Puri
Nayak was at Platform No. 6 when the incident occurred. The railway station was crowded at the time due to the Centennial Utkal Agamani Utsav of Thakur Sri Sri Anukulchandra taking place in Puri.
The Government Railway Police (GRP) rescued Nayak and took her to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Nayak was planning to board the Puri Durg Express to visit her daughter’s house in Sambalpur. A post-mortem is to be conducted to ascertain the reason behind her death.
