Unable to Repay Borrowed Money; Man Rapes Woman In Her House
Bhubaneswar: A man allegedly raped a 32-year-old married woman, who entered her house on the pretext of returning borrowed money in Gadakana area of Bhubaneswar.
The victim lodged a complaint against the accused named Mrutyunjay Patra with the Mancheswar police. She runs a shop in Gajapati Nagar area of Bhubaneswar.
According to her complaint, the accused, a resident of Kendrapara living in the capital city, was one of regular customers of her shop. The accused had allegedly taken a loan of Rs 50,000 from the woman and assured her to repay the amount within a month.
As he delayed the repayment, she requested him to repay the money.
The accused then told the woman to return her the amount at her house on March 29. He reached the house in the evening when her husband was not present and raped the woman.
He also recorded a video of the incident and threatened her not to disclose the matter.
Acting on the complaint, police have started an investigation into the incident. The woman was sent to the Capital Hospital here for medical examination.
