Bhubaneswar: The staff members of a private de-addiction center in Bhubaneswar have been accused of beating an inmate to death. The deceased, Sarbeswar Behera, was undergoing treatment at the center.
Three individuals, including the center’s owner and two employees, were arrested by the Mancheswar police in connection with the incident.
According to sources, the inmate was killed as a result of beating. The center’s authorities were taken to the Mancheswar police station and charged with physical abuse.
The inmate’s death has sparked outrage and concern over reports of mental and physical abuse faced by patients in de-addiction centers across the state.
