In a macabre act, a man allegedly murdered four of his family including his brother over a property dispute in Bargarh district on Monday late at night.
The deceased have been identified as Gurudev Bag, his wife Sibagri Bagh, their son Chudamai (15) and daughter Sravani (10).
The bodies of the man, his wife and his two children a boy and a girl were found drenched in blood, said reports. The bodies were recovered from inside a house.
The incident has been reported from Jikjhiki village under Bhatli police limits in Bargarh district of Odisha. The dead bodies of four people of a family was found inside a house in the village.
According to sources, the accused, identified as Siba Bagh, and the family members of the victim were at loggerheads over a piece of land since a long time.
Late on Monday night, the accused barged into the victim’s house and allegedly stabbed his nephew, daughter-in-law and their son and daughter using a crowbar resulting in their death on the spot.
On being informed, police reached the village and detained the accused. The police have also sealed the room where the bodies were found and called for a scientific team for further investigation into the crime.
