Senior OAS Officer Faces Vigilance Raids Over Alleged Disproportionate Assets
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials conducted raids on Tuesday at seven locations associated with Saroj Kanta Mohanty, a senior Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officer serving as the Chief General Manager (P & A) of IDCO (Industrial Development Corporation of Odisha). The raids were initiated based on allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The simultaneous searches, led by 10 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), 6 Inspectors, and additional staff, were authorized by search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar. The locations under scrutiny include properties in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Jajpur.
The ongoing searches are being conducted at the following places:
- One 3BHK Flat No. 103, Amrita Alayam plot No. GA 437, Sailashree Vihar, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar.
- One 3 BHK Flat No. 201, Tower No. 01, Metro Green Woods, Patapur, Baranga, Cuttack.
- Paternal house at village Brambhabarada, Dharmasala, Dist-Jajpur.
- One 3 storeyed building at Mahanadi vihar, Naya bazar, Cuttack.
- One 2 storeyed residential house located at village Jaraka, Jajpur.
- House of his relative located at N4/295, IRC Village, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar.
- Office room of Saroj Kanta Mohanty located at IDCO Tower, P & A Deptt. Bhubaneswar.
The raids are part of an investigation into allegations of Mohanty possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The outcome of the searches is awaited as Vigilance officials continue their scrutiny.
