Self-styled Godman Kaifi Khan’s aide held in Odisha’s Cuttack
Cuttack: In a major development in the fraud tantrik case, police will now investigate the fraud done in other states by Tantrik Kaifi Khan, who cheated people of lakhs of rupees in the name of Tantra-Mantra. According to the Cuttack DCP, the police will file an application for the remand of the arrested accused. An inquiry will be conducted to find out whether the tantrik has committed fraud outside the state.
The accused, identified as Israel, used to work as middleman for Khan for the financial transactions in the cheating cases.
Meanwhile, the Mangalabag police has taken Khan on a four-day remand for further questioning in connection with the case.
Kaifi Khan was recently arrested by Mangalabag Police for allegedly duping a Ranihat-based woman, Sharmila Sen to the tune of Rs 62 lakh.
So far four cases have been registered against Tantrik Kaifi Khan. Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra has said that the financial transaction is under investigation. Sharmila Bibi of Peer Bazar area has also filed a written complaint against Kaifi Khan at the Sadar police station.
Allegations Against Kaifi Khan:
- Jeherul Islam of Bhadrak: The self-styled tantrik duped the complainant of Rs 5 lakh.
- Shabnam Ara Begum of Cuttack Kisannagar: Rs 5 lakh
- Debabrata Mohanty of Tirtol: Rs 22 lakh
- Sharmila Bibi of Sadar Police Limits: Rs 5 lakh
- A relative of Sk Adil of Kesharpur: Rs 5 lakh
