Police Arrest Another Accused In Patia Gang-Rape Case
Bhubaneswar: The Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested one of the two suspects accused of gang-raping two minor girls near Patia railway station on Monday night. The case had been reported by the mother of one of the minors, with the help of Infocity Police and Bhubaneswar Childline.
The victims, 14-year-old and 12-year-old residents of a slum in Patia, were allegedly kidnapped by two local boys and taken to a railway foot-over bridge where they were tied up and raped for the entire night.
The victims were threatened with death if they told anyone about the attack, but they were eventually released and told their families about the incident.
The suspects offered money to the victims’ families to keep the matter quiet, but Childline reported the incident to the ACP and Infocity police who sent teams to investigate the crime scene.
