Orissa High Court Directs Govt To Establish Deadline For Identifying Fake Doctors
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha High Court has taken cognizance of the Odisha Health and Family Welfare Department’s failure to establish a deadline for identifying and taking action against fake doctors practicing in the state.
During a court hearing on Friday, a bench of Justices S Muralidhar and MS Raman expressed disappointment with the statement submitted by the department in response to the court’s December 21, 2022 directive to the state government to identify fake doctors, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas.
The court has ordered the government to submit an additional affidavit by February 20 and clarify the schedule for completing the inspection of doctors’ certificates. The court also directed the Health and Family Welfare Department to take necessary steps in this matter.
