Orissa HC grants bail to 29 Sambalpur advocates
Sambalpur, Feb 10: Orissa High Court on Friday granted conditional bail to 29 advocates of Sambalpur arrested in connection with the vandalization of Sambalpur district Judge court.
In the order passed by justice V Narasingh, the court directed the lawyers not to hold rallies ,give statements before the media and influence witnesses .
The judge warned that the bail will be cancelled if there is violation of any of these conditions.
The lawyers had been demanding for the setting up of a permanent bench of the Orissa High
Court in Western Orissa since long.
The Supreme Court had asked the agitating lawyers to call off their agitation and join their work
As the Lawyers did not pay any heed to it, the Apex Court asked the Bar Council of India to cancel their license.
A scuffle broke out between the lawyers and police and some lawyers barged into the court and vandalised the District judge court during the protest in December last.
