Puri, Nov 4: The opening ceremony of Sri mandir parikrama project (heritage corridor) for devotees will be observed in a grand religious manner.
This has been resolved in the temple managing committee meeting held here on Saturday. The recommendations of the ritual sub committee have been approved. Temple Chief Administrator Ranjan Kumar Das told media persons soon after the meeting .
For the inaugural ceremony religious functions like Samkeertan(reciting the hymns) by several groups will be conducted in front of all the temple gates in the Parikrama.
This apart, a three days yajna will be performed by shrotriya brahmins and purnahuti will be performed on the opening day. Similar religious activities will be performed in all Jagannath temples to mark the day, he added.
It has been decided to repair the giant bed of the Trinity and Rahu rekha and to install donation boxes at all the temple gates.
The temple body has given NOC to Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to conduct laser scanning of the Ratna bhandar (Temple treasury)whenever they think it is the proper time to assess the condition of the structure.
Since there is heavy rush of devotees during Kartik brata, ASI may take up the job after the Kartik month is over,Das said.
The meeting also discussed over construction of houses for homeless servitors and Gurukul school for their children.
Some financial benefits are extended for ministerial staff with increased medical benefits besides health insurance of temple servitors.
