Bhubaneswar, Aug 21: In a tragic incident, two Kawarias, including a woman, were killed and 11 others seriously injured when a speeding car ran over them on the Vethanai-Vegiput road in Odisha’s Ganjam district late Sunday night.
Police said while one died on the spot, the other succumbed to the injuries at MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Berhampur.
All eleven Kawarias injured in the accident are admitted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital.
Sources said the accident occurred when 17 Kawarias were on their way from Aska to Arakhpur Tarakeswar Temple to pour holy water and offer their prayers on the occasion of Shravana Monday.
