Odisha Train Tragedy: 170 Bodies Identified So Far, Says Chief Secretary PK Jena
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Monday said that 170 bodies have been identified so far in the horrific Balasore train accident that occurred on Friday evening.
All the bodies after due process are being handed over for the transfer to their destination places.
Arrangements for free transportation of the bodies by hearses/dead body carriers till destination were made by the Odisha government, said State Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena.
The government has also issued a helpline number- 18003450061 for the kin of the dead bodies, who are coming for identification.
To ensure smooth handover of deceased body to their family/friends/relatives, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation has setup helpdesk at AIIMS hospital where all senior officials of BMC are supervising the entire process.
The death figure in the tragic triple train accident at Bahanaga station in Balasore stood at 275, as per official statement.
