Odisha: ‘Spy’ Pigeon To Be Sent To CFSL For Further Examination
A suspected spy pigeon which was caught off Paradip coast in Odisha will be sent to Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) for further examination, informed Jagatsinghpur SP Rahul PR today.
The bird will be sent to the CFSL either in Kolkata or Hyderabad. The texts written on the wings of the pigeon and seized devices will be examined at the CFSL, the police official said.
The pigeon was earlier taken to the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) here.
Worth mentioning, some fishermen had caught the bird fitted with a mini camera and a microchip on March 8. They had handed it over to Paradip Marine police.
While tiny camera and microchip were fitted to both its legs, some texts of a foreign language were scribbled on its wings.
The fishermen suspected that the bird was being used by China for spying along Odisha coast.
