Odisha on The Boil; Heat Wave Alert For 7 Districts Today
As the heat wave continues to singe Odisha, Bhubaneswar on Wednesday saw the mercury soaring to 32 degree Celsius by 8.30 am.
Meanwhile, the regional Met office issued heatwave warning for Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonepur and Boudh districts on Wednesday. It has also predicted thunderstorm and lightning for some places in the state between Thursday and Saturday under influence of an approaching western disturbance.

People continued to suffer and so did school-going children, not only because of the heat but also due to the soaring humidity. The relative humidity at 5.30 pm on the day in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack was 45 per cent and 52 per cent respectively.
All schools and Anganwadi Centre for Class I up to Class XII have been shut till April 20.
