Odisha MLA’s Lands In Controversy As Daughter In-Law Files DV Case, Alleges Dowry Torture
Bhubaneswar: In yet another shocker, Ronali Behera (31), the daughter-in-law of BJD MLA Shashi Bhusan Behera has registered a case of domestic violence and alleged dowry torture against her husband and in-laws.
A case of dowry torture has been filed at the Banki police station against MLA Behera, his son Satyaprakash Behera and his other family members by daughter-in-law, Ronali Behera.
In her FIR, Ronali has alleged that she was tortured both physically and mentally many times before she was driven away by in-laws a month back. She too alleged that her husband Satya Prakash had an illicit relationship with another married man.
Satya Prakash (35), the son of the BJD MLA had married Ronali in Bhubaneswar in 2021. Ronali’s father had complied with all the demands of Ronali’s in-laws.
Ronali had brought gold ornaments and household articles worth lakhs of rupees with her. Still, Shashi Bhushan’s family members were asking her to bring lakhs of rupees from her parents.She also alleged that her husband was having an affair with another woman and her husband did not even support her financially to pursue her PhD, the FIR stated.
Making this allegation, Ronali’s father said Shashi Bhushan remained a mute spectator to his family members’ illegal acts always. Instead of protecting my daughter, he encouraged others to drive her away from the house.
