Odisha: Maoists Kill Man On Suspicion Of Being Police Informer In Nabarangpur
A group of armed Maoists reportedly killed a man suspecting him to be a police informer at Khalepara village under Raighar block in Nabarangpur district.
The deceased was identified as Chandan Mallick (42).
According to police, more than 25 cadres of the outlawed outfit reached the village around 9 pm and forcibly took Chandan to a nearby field. They then tied his hands and thrashed him mercilessly. Later, they strangled Chandan to death using a rope.
While leaving the village, the Maoists left posters stating that the Nabarangpur SP, Chhattisgarh Police and Intelligence Department were responsible for Chandan’s death.
Following the incident, Raighar police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
