Odisha: Jolt To BJP As Party’s Jharsuguda Dist President Joins BJD ahead of By-poll
Jharsuguda: With just a week left for the crucial Jharsuguda Assembly by-poll, the BJP has received a big blow on Wednesday.
The saffron party’s Jharsuguda district president Mangal Sahu, who has been holding various positions in the BJP for the past 25 years, quit the party and joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today.
Sahu was inducted to BJD in the presence of Rajya Sabha MP and BJD General Secretary Manas Mangaraj at a joining programme held at Sankha Bhawan this afternoon.
Talking to media after joining the BJD, Sahu said that he was deeply shocked at the cheap politics of the BJP leaders over the murder of former Minister Naba Kishore Das.
He alleged that some leaders of the BJP have forgotten the principles and ideals of the party and are indulging in dirty politics.
Sahu further said that he has been inspired by the continuous development in Odisha under the leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
He further said that he would carry out the responsibility given to him by the party to lead the development trend in Jharsuguda district.
