Bhubaneswar, May 11: The Income Tax department on Thursday carried out raids at the house and other properties of former Champua MLA Sanatan Mahakud.
According to reports, simultaneous raids are being launched in Keonjhar, Bhubaneswar and in his ancestral village. In Bhubaneswar, a number of residential buildings are also under construction in his name.
Simultaneous raids are being conducted at 10 locations in the state. The ex-MLA’s residential house in Shahidnagar area of Bhubaneswar is also being searched by I-T officials..
The raid is being conducted in Bhubaneswar by a 10-member Income Tax team. According to reports, the former MLA is involved in a major tax evasion.
