Odisha: Husband of Block Chairman booked for forging BDO’s signature to withdraw Rs 15 lakh
A contractor has allegedly cheated Rs 15 lakh rupees from the bank by forging BDO’s fake signature in Tangi of Khurda. Kishore Behera, who is the husband of the Chilika block chairperson, allegedly withdrew a security deposit of Rs 15 lakh by forging the concerned BDO’s signature.
Tangi police in Khordha district have registered a case under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against him.
According to the complaint, Kishore Behera, a former Zilla Parishad member who is the husband of Chilika block chairperson, was a contractor by profession. For a construction work, he had signed an agreement and pledged Rs 15 lakh towards security money. He was to get back the deposit money after the completion of the work.
However, he withdrew Rs 15 lakhs by forging Tangi BDO Aishwarya Samantharay’s signature even before the work has started.
The BDO Aishwarya Samantharay has registered a written complaint against Kishore in Tangi police station.
