Odisha: Elephant attacks claim 2 lives in single day
Panic gripped people as two women were killed by a tusker while another woman was severely injured on Monday morning when they had gone to a nearby jungle to collect mangoes.
The incidents were reported from Angul block and the deceased identified as Muli Pradhan and Gouri Roul of the village.
As per reports, the incident took place while the two had gone to a nearby mango orchard to collect the fruits when an elephant attacked the duo. The pachyderm trampled Muli, killing her on the spot. Gauri was also seriously injured in the elephant attack and admitted to the Angul District General Hospital for treatment. She breathed her last during treatment there.
It is worth mentioning here that 10 people have lost their lives in elephant attacks in Angul block in four months.
A pall of gloom descended on the village after the tragic incident.
