Odisha Cricketer Rajashree Died Due To Asphyxiation: Post-Mortem Report
Bhubaneswar: The post-mortem report of Odisha cricketer Rajashree Swain, who was found hanging from a tree in a forest in Cuttack district on January 14, revealed that she died from asphyxiation. The report also revealed that she had severe head injuries.
The police are waiting for the results of a viscera examination to provide more information.
Rajashree had been missing since January 11 when she left a training camp organized by the Odisha Cricket Association, saying she was going to meet her family. Her coach filed a missing complaint and a case of unnatural death was registered when her body was found in the forest by a guard.
Rajashree’s scooter and some belongings were found near the spot the day before. Her parents suspect foul play as the police initially suspected suicide due to not being selected for a tournament.
