In a shocking incident, a class X girl student sustained critical injuries after she was allegedly attacked with a blade during a kidnap bid at Pattamundai in Kendrapara district on Thursday.
The victim was admitted to Pattamundai Hospital in a critical condition.
According to reports, the incident occurred while the victim was returning home after appearing in the Matric examination at Manmathanath High School when miscreants tried to abduct her in a car. However, the girl tried her best to escape from them. During the tussle, the miscreants attacked the girl with a piece of blade and injured her seriously.
After hearing her screams, local people rushed to the spot and rescued her. The girl was immediately rushed to Pattamundai Hospital in critical condition where she is undergoing treatment. Meanwhile, the condition is stated to be stable.
Following this, the family members of the deceased have lodged an FIR in this regard.
On the basis of the complaint, Pattamundai police have registered a case and started an investigation. However, the exact cause behind the abduction bid is yet to be ascertained.
