Bhubaneswar: Casting couch allegation resurfaced in Ollywood as actress Prakruti Mishra has accused film producer Sanjay Nayak, popularly known as Tutu Nayak, of harassing newcomers in the industry.
As per reports, the Odia film actress has filed the complaint against Tutu Nayak at Dada Bhai Naroji Nagar Police Station in Andheri West of Mumbai. Prakruti has made several allegations including criminal intimidation and defamation against the producer in her complaint.
The police have registered a case against under Sections 500 (punishment for defamation), 504 (intentional insult to provoke) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the sources said.
Speaking to a regional news channel, Prakruti said that Nayak has been exploiting aspiring actresses on false promises of giving them opportunity to work in movies.
“Though I haven’t faced such situation, I came to know about such incidents from the victims,” she added.
However, refuting the allegations at a Press conference on Friday, Nayak said he would file a defamation case against Prakruti and the news channel for such allegations.
He claimed that Prakruti is being instigated by some film producers to level such allegations against him.
