Bhubaneswar: Odia actor Pintu Nanda departed for New Delhi on Tuesday for further treatment of his liver cirrhosis at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS). He is set to undergo a liver transplant at the private hospital.
After his health deteriorated, Nanda was initially admitted to a hospital in Bhubaneswar. His doctor recommended advanced treatment in Delhi, which is estimated to cost Rs 50 lakh. To cover the expenses, Nanda, his family, and friends have sought financial assistance from kind-hearted individuals and the public.
The Odisha Cine Artist Association has also stepped in to support the actor who is known for playing villainous roles in Ollywood movies. The association held a meeting to explore ways to help and has launched a fundraising campaign on social media platforms. Pintu’s fans and the general public have also generously extended their financial support.
