Low Pressure Area Over Bay Of Bengal After May 6; Will It Become Cyclone?
Bhubaneswar: A Low Pressure Area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal after May 6, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted.
As per IMD, a low pressure area is likely to form over the same region under the influence of the cyclonic circulation during the subsequent 48 hours.
Meanwhile, the US weather forecast model Global Forecast System (GFS) and the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) have forecasted the formation of a cyclonic storm over the Bay of Bengal. If the cyclone is formed it will be called ‘Mocha’.
Though the IMD was yet to predict whether the low pressure area will become a cyclonic storm or not, international meteorologist Jason Nicholls has forecasted that the system may intensify into a cyclone and impact areas between eastern India and Myanmar.
The cyclone is likely to impact from east India to Bangladesh and Myanmar. The Meteorologists are keeping an eye on the changes in the low pressure.
