In another incident of kangaroo court justice, a young girl was reportedly tied to the pillar of a house and brutally thrashed for allegedly going to meet a male friend.
The shocking incident has been reported from Leprosy Colony under Mancheswar police limits in Odisha capital Bhubaneswar.
Sources said the girl had gone to the colony to meet her alleged boyfriend. However, a few women in the colony caught hold of her and brutally assaulted her in full public view.
According to reports, deep injury marks have been spotted on the hand and the body of the woman. The woman will undergo a medical examination and then her statement will be recorded under Section. 161 of CrPC.
The family members of the woman had allegedly asked her not to talk to a youth which she did not listen. This was the reason behind the torture of the woman, said sources.
On getting information, police reached the spot and rescued the young woman. The cops have also registered a case under relevant sections and sent the victim for medical examination.
Further investigation is underway in this regard.
