In yet another man-elephant conflict, a woman was killed after being attacked by a wild elephant at Panbarj village in the Khurda range.
. The deceased woman was identified as Kiranbala Mandhata.
According to reports, as usual, Kiranbala was out early morning on Monday to pluck flowers. when an elephant attacked her and eventually trampled her to death.
On being informed, the Forest department and police personnel reached the spot and drove the elephant away to a nearby forest. Kiranbala’s body has been sent for post-mortem.
Another person, Vikram of Tangiyapada village in the district was admitted to Khurda Medical Center after being attacked by an elephant while standing on the street.
