Security officials recovered a huge cache of explosive materials used by Maoists at a place in neighbouring Chhattisgarh bordering Malkangiri district on Sunday.
According to reports, the jawans of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and district voluntary force (DVF) were carrying out a combing operation in the forest when Maoists opened fire at them, leading to a gun battle that lasted for several hours. While the rebels fled the spot, some of them are suspected to have been injured.
Later the recovery was made after the jawans conducted a search operation in the forest and found a huge cache of explosive materials including IEDs. The Combing operation is being carried out in the forest and nearby areas.
